So, blog post No. 2!!! Yay!
Aside from music, something that ultimately defines me is my clothes. Clothes define everyone. They express mood and personality, and help someone belong. They are also good for protection against the weather.
My dress sense has changed dramatically over the years. Now, it is basically goth. (Haha bet you didn't see that one coming!)
I love long, flowing black skirts. I have about 6, in various conditions. These are ideal for the unpleasent Australian summers that I have to get through each and every year, and are great layered with knee high socks and stockings in winter.
Black cargo pants are pretty good too. all mine are falling apart though... =(
My 'goth look' would be a mixture of romantic goth and dark cabaret style. Fishnets, trench coats, lace, flowers and all that stuff. XD
What do you other goths wear? How do you cope with ridiculously hot 47* C days???
Peace and love, guys, as I look forward to the commencement of winter.

I'm with you on the long black skirts... I love lace, tartan, bloomers, pink accents, corset-style lacings, and anything that could be described as 'spookycute'. Perkygoth much? XP
I guess I'm a perkygoth, but i don't really wear pink. A lot of black tee shirts with crazy monsters or vampires and cute things like that. XD
I usually end up wearing bloomers like an old maid :)
Cute as!
I'm trying to save for a corset, but it's not really happening yet....
Who were you thinking of buying from? I have used Asylum 7 and Gallery Serpentine ...
I want to buy from somewhere in Melbourne. I don't know where exactly because I've only just moved here. If there isn't anywhere good then I'd consider somewhere online.
Asylum 7 is based in Melbourne and I think that Gallery Serpentine might have just opened a shop there. Although Gallery Serpentine charges extra if you do not want an off the rack size. Asylum 7 did mine to my measurements (when I picked the design) for no extra cost. Although Asylum 7 does not use steel boning which might be an issue if you enjoy accuracy.
I'd like steel boning. However, If I still liked something then I'd probably still try it. Thanks for the advice. =)
It is not like plastic, it is fibreglass. Originally I had my reservations about it but I actually quite like it. I expect that you might not be buying one for a while though, so there might be other Melbourne designers that you will let me know about :)
Haha well I'm guessing that I am going to be doing a fair bit of shopping around until I find one that I really like, so if I come accross a good designer then I will let you know.
